Resolved Question: I am paranoid about my scabies treatment? 8 Oct 2009, 1:56 pm
The doctor told me that the family has scabies yesterday. I washed all my linen and clothing in hot soapy water and hot dryer. I put the cream on tha family last night but now im paranoid. The doctor said that we should not wash and put the cream on before we go to bed. I didnt wash me or my daughter. So now im paranoid about whether or not i killed the bugs. So would the medicine still do its job even though I didn’t was either of us? Also I didnt put the cream on our scalp but I put it on our forehead neckline and behind the ears should I have put it on the scalp too?
Resolved Question: Scabies treatment…please help? 16 Sep 2009, 2:15 pm
I need to explain this in detail b/c I’ve searched the internet and I haven’t found a concrete answer.I was diagnosed with Scabies (eww!) towards the beginning of August. I did two treatments of Kwellada-P. Which left me with tingling and crawling sensations on my face, head and pubic area. The doctor says this is because Kwelleda is toxic and tingliing is a side effect. He says the mites look to be all dead. I have also been takinig baths in neem oil, using neem soap and neem lotion every night. Been about 2 weeks now. I have vacuumed, bleached, and washed everything I came into contact with, covered my mattress with a vinyl cover. I wash my bed sheets and comforter every 3 days and on the days I can’t I put it in the dryer for about 20 minutes along with any clothes I’ve worn or will be wearing. I bought new sandals to wear inside the house on the carpet so as to not touch the carpets with my feet. The itching has gone down 90%. Tremendous relief…BUT just two nights ago I woke up and I always inspect all areas where burrows may appear and I noticed a very small burrow! I’m about to lose my mind. After everything I’ve done! I haven’t been extra itchy or anything…still feel 90% better than I did a few weeks ago. So do you guys think they’re dead and maybe it’s just remains being pushed out of my skin!?!? Or am I re-infected? The doctor said I cannot use Kwellada again because of the tingling and since now my face and scalp are also itchy (apparently due to the lotion). It’s impossible fighting an invisible enemy. I’d rather take bed bugs over scabies any day! Can I take a hot needle and poke the burrow? Will that kill or prevent any eggs from hatching? Will I become more itchy once they hatch? How long does it take for them to hatch? Does Neem oil kill the eggs or just prevents the mites from reproducing? Please help!!!!!!
Resolved Question: Will Gelmicin (Betamethasone/Clotrimozol/Gentamicin) cream help or hurt in scabies treatment ? 18 May 2009, 8:46 pm
I am suffering from scabies. I have tried to see my doc. 3 times with no success. I am attempting to treat with essential oils (Young Living Thieves) and have experienced continued relief. I’m wondering though, if some Gelmicin I have on hand would be helpful. I know sulfur has been recommended, but am trying to use what I have on hand. Thanks for your help!Maria
