Scabies home treatment

Anyone that has been in contact with a person that has scabies will need to be treated. The symptoms of scabies take four to six weeks to develop before the itching and red bumps appear. The home treatment for scabies includes treating and washing all the bedding and clothing in the household to kill the live scabies that thrive in the materials.

There is a myth that there is not a home treatment for scabies yet throughout history there has been an effective home treatment that is documented to have worked and kill the scabies and cure the infected individuals. Here are some home treatments used to eradicate the pesky mites.

The key to killing the mites is to suffocate them under the skin. This can be done with many things in the home. One such technique is to apply clear fingernail polish in several layers to stop the air to the skin and mite. Keep the fingernail polish on the affected areas for several days.

Onion can be used. Cut the onion in half. Scoop out the inside of the onion and add coarse sea salt. Allow the salt to dissolve. Use the liquid from the onion and salt as a skin cream that is applied to all areas of the body. Repeat this twice a day for three days. The itching may still occur but the mites will be killed.

Homemade herbal soap made with 1 large block olive or vegetable oil soap 1 ounce finely chopped herbs several drops of essential oil and 1 tablespoon finely ground oatmeal. Grate the soap into a bowl. Add remaining ingredients. Heat over low heat to melt. Take an egg container and line with wax paper. Fill the openings in each section of the container. Bath with the herbal soap and lather allowing the soap to remain on the skin for five minute. Rinse off the soap.
